3rd Annual Hill Family Christmas Letter

3rd Annual Hill Family

Christmas Letter, 2004

Dear Family and Friends,

Last year, Jeffrey Jr. wrote our Christmas letter. Because of the poor response, I, Jeff Sr. have been given the task. I would like to apologize now for any indigestion that results from this letter. Because both Jenny and I are both in school, we decided that everyone we know should also be subject to Finals like we are. Hopefully, this test will not be quite as difficult as my Math 521 final will be. Enjoy. (Don't worry, the answers are on the back.)

1. Who was born on Nov. 8, 2004 at 9:50 pm?

  1. Jonathan Robert Hill
  2. Jeffrey Ray Hill, III
  3. Jeffrey Ray Hill, IV
  4. Bob Muhammad Hill, XXI

2. How many words can Jeffrey now say?

  1. 2—Yum, No
  2. 3—Yum, No, MORE!!!
  3. 5—Yum, No, MORE!!!, Dadda, Mommy
  4. 15 bajillion—Yum, I want more Daddy, Pleath? Etc. etc. etc.

3. Where did we go this past year?

  1. Nowhere
  2. Maryland, Yellowstone, Zions (6 times), Orem (453 times), Cruise to Mexico, Hawaii (Jenny and Jeffrey), San Diego (Jeff)
  3. Maryland, Yellowstone, Crazy (6 times)
  4. Aruba, Jamaica, Bermuda, Bahama come on pretty mama…

4. What is the schooling situation?

  1. Jeff graduated, and now works at a gas station, Jenny still has 15 more credits
  2. Jeff forgot to take one class, so he is finishing up, Jenny is making all the money.
  3. Jeff graduated, is working on his Masters, Jenny just finished her last class.
  4. We decided to send Jeffrey to school instead. He’ll be finished in 20+ years.

5. How did we spend Jenny’s Birthday (Nov. 5)?

  1. We flew to San Francisco and watched the sunset.
  2. We went on a cruise to Mexico.
  3. We forgot about her birthday, so we didn’t do anything.
  4. We got rear-ended and ended up sitting in the hospital for 4 hours.

1. a) Jonathan Robert Hill was born Nov. 8, 2004. He weighed in at 7 lb. 13 oz. and is a wonderful little boy. He and Jenny are doing great, though Jenny needs a little more rest. Jonny and Jeffrey tag team as to who sleeps when. Jeffrey sleeps through the night, while Jonny sleeps through the day.

2. d) Jeffrey says anything and everything, though sometimes it is hard to tell what he is saying. He turned 1 in April, started going to nursery in September, as hasn’t looked back. He loves being a big brother and helping his mom and dad. Unfortunately, sometimes he helps a little too much. Well, we can always buy more dishes, and we can’t replace the memories that we make.

3. b) Yes, we did travel to Zion’s six times. Jenny’s grandfather owns a cabin right outside of the park, and we took advantage of it this year. Jeff’s dad decided that he had too much money, so he took all of his family (us included) on a cruise to Mexico. It was a blast. He also took everyone to Hawaii during the summer, but Jeff had classes that he couldn’t miss. Jeff went to San Diego for a day to present a paper at the Acoustical Society of America Conference. It went well, but the traffic was horrible. I guess we’ll never live in Southern California.

4. c) Jeff did graduate last April, and is now working on his master’s in Mechanical Engineering at BYU. He should finish this April and is applying for PhD programs right now. Next year, this letter will be coming from somewhere besides Provo. Jenny has three more tests to take, and she will be done with school forever!!! She will officially graduate with a BS in Chemical Engineering in April. Jeffrey is learning his ABC’s, as well as how to count and pray. He doesn’t do any well, but it is fun to try. Jonathan, well, he is trying to learn how to use his hands. His mouth works pretty well, though.

5. d) Our first accident. We were sitting at a red light, and we got rear-ended. I guess the other driver didn’t see us….and the 15 cars in front of us. Everyone was fine, and we could drive away, but because of the pregnancy, the doctors told us Jenny had to be monitored at the hospital for 4 hours. We had an enjoyable evening to ourselves, while Jeff’s family watched Jeffrey for us. Very romantic. (Except for the probes and belts on Jenny’s stomach)

How well did you do?

5 Fabulous job. We must be related.

4 Not bad. Maybe second cousins.

2-3 You might want to consider getting glasses.

1 Either you just closed your eyes and guessed, or you are terrified of any test

0 Incredibly unlucky.

We love you all, and wish you the best holiday season. We would love to hear from you. Our email addresses are: Jeffrayhill@gmail.com, and beautiful_hill@hotmail.com. (You’ll never guess who is who.) The gospel is true. Life is WONDERFUL!!!

The Hills

Jeff, Jenny, Jeffrey, Jonathan (J4)
