Tuesday morning started bright and early for me. It got really cold last night (40ish) and we didn't bring enough blankets. The last time we were camping, we had a 4 man tent for all of us, and it was extremely warm. We bought a new tent which lets much more air through, and we felt it. I eventually got up about 5:30, and was able to walk the beach at sunrise. It was very peaceful to be able to commun with God alone in the wilderness. And I even got a picture of it.

We decided to make a fun day of it and drove to Tahquamenon Falls State Park to see the beauties of the Upper Peninsula, and also to have a picnic. Here's a picture of one side of the falls.

Here's Ben going down the path that led to the river.

Right in the middle of the falls, there is an island. The only way to get there is by boat, so (with the boys enthusiastic endorsment) we rented a rowboat and made the hazardous journey to the island. The boys loved it, even if they had to wear bulky life jackets.

Isn't this a beautiful place?

Here are the boys in front of one of the waterfalls. They sure are cute.

When we tell Benjamin to smile, this is the face we get now. He screws up his eyes, but still is cuter than me!

Now that boy is going to have girls all over him when he grows up! (Actually, in his last primary class, three of the girls all decided they were going to marry Jeffrey.... Come on, he's only 5!)

We ate lunch on the island, and then went back to the boat. We left Jenny on shore with the camera, but we did eventually go back and get her.

Jeffrey and Jonny both got turns rowing, so Benjamin decided it was his turn.... We traveled in circles for a little while, and then got back on track.

To be continued....
